  In order to start Setup, which performs the necessary settings for the operation of Disk Shredder 7, the “Enable Fast Startup” checkbox must be unchecked in the Windows 10 settings.

  Before starting data erasure, change the Secure Boot function from “Use” to “Do not use” in the BIOS Setup menu.

(*3)

  Before starting data erasure, set “Secure Boot” under “Secure Boot” in the “Security” tab of Setup to Off or Disabled.

  Before starting data erasure, disable “Secure Boot Control” under “Secure Boot” in the “Security” tab of Setup.

  Before starting data erasure, set “Secure Boot” to “None” in the “Security” tab of the Surface UEFI.

  Since the keyboard, touchpad, and touch panel of the main unit cannot be operated, please prepare a USB mouse or similar device.To save the data erasure log, use a USB hub to connect a USB memory stick for saving the data.

  Since the mouse on the main unit cannot be operated, use the keyboard or prepare a USB mouse, etc.

  Before starting data erasure, set Secure Boot to Disabled in the Setup Utility and specify the device in which the Disk Shredder 7 media is loaded as the device to be started upon exit.

  Operation was confirmed with the overwrite erase method.It is reported that the Secure Erase/Sanitize Erase method does not work.

  efore starting data erasure, set “Secure Boot” to “Disabled” and “Enable TPM” to “Disabled” in “Surface UEFI”.

  The accessory Surface Dock 2 or Type Cover is required to operate the Disk Shredder 7.

  Since the keyboard and touch panel of the main unit cannot be operated, please prepare a USB mouse, USB keyboard, etc.

  We have confirmed that the DVD-ROM version works.It is reported that the USB memory version does not work.

  Before starting data erasure, change the setting of [System Configuration] → [SATA Operation] or [Storage] → [SATA Operation] in BIOS Setup or Setup Utility from the default [RAID On] to [AHCIPlease change the setting from the default [RAID On] to [AHCI On].

  Operation was confirmed by booting in UEFI mode.It is reported that the keyboard and mouse are not usable when booting in BIOS mode.

  We were able to confirm the operation of the USB memory version by setting it via a USB hub.It is reported that it is not possible to operate when it is set directly to a USB port.

  Before starting data erasure, change the boot order to first by setting USB-CD/DVD to [enabled] in the BIOS settings.

  Before starting data erasure, change the UEFI mode to legacy mode.

(*19)

  It has been reported that the screen could not be displayed on the built-in monitor, but when connected to an external monitor, the screen could be displayed.

  It has been reported that the USB memory version could not be started on the first USB port it was connected to, but could be started by reconnecting it to a different USB port.

(*21)

  Before starting data erasure, set [OS Type] to [UEFI Mode], [CSM Boot] to [Enabled], and [Boot Device Control] to [UEFI/Legacy OPROM] in the BIOS [Boot Menu].

(*22)

  Before starting data erasure, [HDD ONLY] must be removed in the “Boot sequence” of the BIOS.
