  • Gutmann recommendation is an erase method proposed by Gutmann, on his paper in 1996. A major feature is that the overwrite data is theoretically-calculated for leaving the least traces of data by analyzing data encoding methods(formatting methods) such as RLL(Run Length Limited) or MFM(Modified FM).
